    We have a Router and a Switch (5412lz ---> 5412zl2) connected via 1GB fiber.

The TX counters for the Router interface that connects to Switch constantly shows dropped TX packets and they are always in Q3.
We have changed out the SFP, and card to no avail. Below shows the Ques for the Interface on the Router.

Egress Queue Totals (Since boot or last clear) :
Tx Packets         Dropped Packets              Tx Bytes             Dropped Bytes
    Q1        68,987                       0                         4,892,632                       0
    Q2             0                            0                               0                                0
    Q3       9,044,161               8,945                  10,452,512,544        13,367,587
    Q4             0                            0                                0                               0
    Q5             0                            0                                0                               0
    Q6             0                            0                                0                               0
    Q7           389                          0                           37,490                          0
    Q8        133,375                     0                           28,658,720                   0

Any idea how to troubleshoot this further?

Hello Aaron, is the cabling of involved ports OK between the two HP ProCurve 5412zl? Can you share sanitized configuration of involved ports? Are SFP Transceivers on both ends genuine supported HP parts supported by the HP ProCurve 5400zl Switch series? What software version are those switches running on? Also...can you share the outputs of show bandwidth output <port-id> command executed on both ends for the involved ports? is the interlink between these two switches used to pass great amount of traffic (typically when you have VLANs routed on Switch A and there is a lot of inter-VLAN traffic to/from different VLANs propagated also to Switch B <- this inter-VLAN traffic goes back/forth the router A through the A-B link even if the sources/destinations hosts belonging to different involved VLANs are connected only to Switch B -> A-B link could become an high traffic link potentially introducing a bottleneck).

    Transceivers are genuine.
Software versions on both are 16.10.0012.

Yes the link is used for all to pass all traffic between VLAN's, as well as the route out to the Internet, DHCP, DNS, etc.

I have attached the output for the following on each switch:

    1. show bandwidth
    2. show transceiver
    3. show interface
    4. show vlan custom
    5. show version
