I want to configure dynamic segmentation using a 6200 CX switch and a 9004 gateway.

Do I need to deploy a gateway as a VPNC to terminate the GRE tunnels from a CX switch?

Can I use the WLAN gateway advanced or Gateway foundation subscription to deploy a VPNC?

at minimum your 9004 should have wireless gateway subscription. Tunneling for wired clients is part of SD-LAN features which is part of the Gateway WLAN Advanced subscription.

but you can also use foundational subscription that will include SD-LAN features as well. With foundational subscription, you can choose either branch gateway or VPNC personas.

refer to HPE Aruba Networking Central SaaS subscription guide - table 3

Branch or Mobility gateway are the personas you want, not VPNC.

The WLAN gateway subscriptions only license mobility functionality.
