  • 1.  Factory reset Aruba 6000 R8N85A

Hello. I have tried to do a factory reset on an Aruba 6000 R8N85A switch without success. Unfortunately my predecessor didn't leave access keys so I can't do it via CLI.

I pressed the reset button until it rebooted but to no avail.
I checked the documentation and it mentions a "Clear" button but on the front panel there is only the "reset" button and the "mode" button.

I already checked the switch everywhere and I didn't find any holes like the reset one.

Could you help me with the correct procedure please?

You might need to connect to the switch's console, reboot it and enter the services-OS (SVOS) prompt by selecting option "0" during the boot process.
    (Just as per this thread)
"erase zeroize" will reset the switch to factory-default then ...

Does it really ask for user and password?

Default behavior would be asking for user only ...
Login with 'admin', then set new password with the 'password' command. Reboot the switch and login with his newly set password ...

If password is asked for at SVOS prompt, you should login with username 'zeroize'.
This zeroizes the switch completely and, after reboot, it will come back up in factory-default status.
