Remove SNMP read-write settings from that device.

    Check credentials.

Check file transfer method + login type.

What does the Device Capability List show for that device?

Check logs - there's a couple of things to check here http://community.hpe.com/t5/IMC/Backup-Config-Cisco-ASA/td-p/6858234

SNMP was already set for Read-Only Community String.

    credentials was good and working.

Transfer mode was TFTp and login type was ssh.

now the problem is half sloved we can backup for Running Configuration but it fails for Startup Configuration with same error "Failed to obtain the device version".

What happens if you change the file transfer type to SCP? (And enable SCP on the ASA)

    Use SCP + SSH.

Check the sysObjectID for that device - is it listed in the CiscoASA section of <imc>/server/conf/adapters/ICC/Cisco/adapter-index.xml
