    Hi @ all,

    I have an HP ProCurve 1810G - 8 GE, P.1.6, eCos-2.0.

I've tried to update the initial Firmeware P.1.6 to P.1.17 or P.1.20 but without any success.

    1. Here are the steps I've tried:

HTTP P.1.17 > Image "Backup" (with Windows & Linux Client)

TFTP P.1.17 > Image "Backup" (with Windows & Linux TFTP Server)

HTTP P.1.20 > Image "Backup" (with Windows & Linux Client)

TFTP P.1.20> Image "Backup" (with Windows & Linux TFTP Server)

    2. System environment:

    OS1: Windows 7x64 (Pysical Machine)

    OS2: Ubuntu 14.04 (Pysical Machine)

    TFTP Server 1 Windows: Tftpd32

TFTP Server 2 Windows: SolarWinds TFTP Server

    TFTP Server Ubuntu: tftpgui (https://code.google.com/p/tftpgui/)

No Firewalls, no DHCP, Static IP

PC1 & PC2 <> Switch - directly conntected with LAN Cable (no crossover)

    1x CAT5e Cable (0,5 meters)

    1x CAT6 Cable (1 meter)

    3. HTTP Error Messages:

Download to IMAGE1 failed. Insufficient memory to download the 'P_1_17.stk'.

Download to valMapImage1 failed. File 'P_1_17.stk' may not exist or it is empty.

Download to IMAGE1 failed. Insufficient memory to download the 'P_1_20.stk'.

Download to valMapImage1 failed. File 'P_1_20.stk' may not exist or it is empty.

    4. TFTP Error Messages (Windows ans Linux):

Insufficient memory to perform the file download.

    File download failed!

    6. Notes:

    - tried the clear button on the switch > no success

    - tried the reset button on the switch > no success

    - tried every port with every  cable with every client > no success

Now I don't know what to do now. Has someone an solution for me?

    With friendly regards

    Hi,

    thanks for your reply.

The problem is that I can't set the 1st Image as active.

It comes the following error message:

When i try to update the "Active" Image by selecting the Active instead of Backup Entry in the Download Manager nothing happens when i push the "Download" Button.

    No Error Message - Nothing

It looks like the button donsn't work. (HTTP & TFTP)

    Regards,

    Hello,

As I can see on your screen shot, the switch do not see his own firmware.

Your switch is life time warranty. Open a case at the HP support and ask to replace it.

    Regards,

    Hi,

    thanks for your help.

Can you tell me how to do this?

I've searched around the HP Website the last weekend a couple of times to get in touch with HP.

But I can't really find the right contact for me.

    Regards,

Here are the exact steps I followed successfully on five of these:

    1. Maintenance -> Dualimage config, select Image1, Activate, Apply
    2. Diagnostics -> Reboot switch, UNcheck "save config", reboot
    3. Maintenance -> Update Manager, method HTTP, type Code, select Active, choose 1.20, download
    4. Diagnostics -> Reboot switch, UNcheck "save config", reboot
    5. Maintenance -> Update Manager, method HTTP, type Code, select Backup, choose 2.12, download
    6. Maintenance -> Dualimage config, select Image2, Activate, Apply
    7. Diagnostics -> Reboot switch, UNcheck "save config", reboot

In case it helps anyone else.
