    Hi Guys

Hope someone can help, I have been left with an IRF stack I can't get access to, long story short, my colleague left with out detailing IP, user or password for this stack. I need to access the stack quite urgently, I can get a console session setup by remote hands, I do not believe my colleague would've switched off password-recovery so question how do I go about resetting the password I am guessing the user will be admin? The switches still have support they are fairly new.

    Any help very gladly accepted.

    Tia

Hi, I'm only aware of the ability to use the bootloader menu to gain access to the switch without a config. Which is normally to factory reset the switch.

However, if you can gain a service window to do this, it might be possible to view the configuration which will still be on the flash. You'll need to flatten the switch but would have the config to view and rebuild with new passwords.

If you have the config backup up in a file (but don't know what the hashed passwords are) the procedure at the bottom of this blog post seems like the way forward.

I don't believe there is any way to gain access without an outage window.
