    Hello,

In a project I am using a MOXA media converter to go from copper to fiber optic and on the other end I have a H3C A5500 EI switch with an JD102B SFP transceiver. The MOXA IMC-21-S-SC fiber characteristics are 100 BASE FX. The HP web page says the JD102B is a 100 BASE FX SFP but the A5500 is reporting it as a 100 BASE SX SFP using the following command

    <H3C>display transceiver interface gigabitethernet1/0/5

Are 100 BASE FX and 100 BASE SX incompatible then? Is the HP part number wrong?

    Regards.

    Hello,

I found that the problem was the actual fiber optic cable being utilized.

The JD102B SFP is meant for multi mode and the JD120B is for single mode fiber which is the fiber that the MOXA media converter uses.

    Regards.
