Hey there, forum legends!
I'm reaching out for some guidance from the firmware wizards! I'm trying to breathe new life into my 3Com Baseline Switch 2952-SFP Plus (3CRBSG5293), also known as the HP 1910-48G Switch (JE009A). Here's the current setup:
- Software Version: 5.20 Release 1101P09
- Hardware Version: REV.B
- Bootrom Version: 119
The challenge? My current firmware version doesn't support the port description feature, which would be super handy for monitoring with Zabbix and other SNMP-related tasks.
For reference, I've got an HPE 1920-48G Switch (JG927A) running a newer firmware that handles this perfectly. But finding an updated firmware for my older model from a reliable source has been like searching for a unicorn. And, of course, losing this switch is not an option - it's holding down the fort in production! π
If anyone has a lead on a trustworthy firmware source or can share some tips, I'd be forever grateful. Thanks a ton for taking the time to help out!
Details of my "vintage" switch:

- Software Version: 5.20 Release 1101P09
- Hardware Version: REV.B
- Bootrom Version: 119
Big thanks in advance for any guidance or pointers you can share!
