Pete,
That does not sound correct to me if you have LIC-VIA (Per client VIA licenses). If you received LIC-PEFV-<controller-type> licenses, those are 'per controller' licenses and I can imagine that those are platform constrained for your MM. Please work with Aruba TAC.

apologies but i don't understand your reply.
My question is :-
I know the 7220 can handle over 1000 VIA clients but why do i get a platform limit on the Hardware MM?

That is the meaning of the 1K in the product SKU (at least if the SKU works like the license SKUs), unless they are selling the same hardware in all boxes and just limiting usage with the license I would expect the different usint to be provisioned at the hardware level for different loads (it doesn't really make sense to sell someone a device that can handle multiples of the promised load on the off chance they will pay for more licenses in the future).

hello Airheads,
we have a Aruba Hardware MM-1K version 8 (8.3 code) and 2 x Hardware 7220 controllers.
We have 1000 VIA licences and 800 AP, PEF and RFP licences.
Now i went to add additional VIA licences and i got a message "platform constrained to 1000".
Can anyone tell me if this is correct?
cheers
pete
