  • 1.  How Can I add APIN0225 to Virtual Controller made by AP-505

    Hi,

    I have wireless set up using Virtual controller created by AP 505 consists 24 APs ( all are 505 model) , Can I add APIN0225 model to the virtual controller what I have.

    Appreciate your assistance

    Hi, 

    yes you can. You have to use a common supported Software Release.

    8.6.x code train will be supported by both AP types.

    Be sure to bring the Software version on the existing Cluster and on AP 225 seperate - before trying to join the cluster. If you have AirWave or Aruba Central as management Platform you don´t need that step. With AirWave you only have to bring that release to the Software Repository. With Central everything works automatically.

    But be aware that 8.6.x Code Train will get Out of Support by 1st of August 2024

    Sorry no...because AP-225 is only Supported Up to Software Version 8.6.x

    Please check the actual product number on the sticker on the back. APIN0225 is the regulatory type number. The product number can be AP-225 or IAP-225-RW/US/JP.

    If the product is an IAP model, you could create a cluster as mentioned in other posts.

    If the product is an AP-225, you need a mobility controller to operate (not another Instant AP).
