    Posted Sep 11, 2014 08:05 AM

We encoutner an error wen follow switch and DAC cable connected.

    • JC102A                  HP 5820-24XG-SFP+ Switch
    • JD097C                  HP X240 10G SFP+ SFP+ 3m DAC Cable

While configuring the 5820 switch, we noticed the below error logs out of the DAC cable connected ports. The interfaces came up, however the broadcasts and the multicasts are increasing than normal.

    Below are errors:

    %Apr 26 12:01:33:154 2000 HP OPTMOD/4/FIBER_SFPMODULE_NOWINVALID:

Ten-GigabitEthernet1/0/3: This is not a supported transceiver for this platform. HP does not guarantee the normal operation or maintenance of unsupported transceivers. Please review the platform datasheet on the HP web site or contact your HP sales rep for a list of supported transceivers.

We are not sure on how it is going to effect the overall connectivity performance.  while check the datasheet of the switch, the cable is listed.

any suggestion or advices are highly apprecited, thank you in advance!

I would suggest an upgrade as well.  What version of code is currently running in the switch?
