I recently got ahold of an HP SP7041-ISS 1Gb SFP RJ-45 Module, but when I plug it into my ProCurve 2810 (J9021A) as the uplink, the link arrow for it blinks green (slow flashes, once per second), and it does not provide a connection. Is this module compatible with this switch? Do I need to get a different SFP or is it possible to allow the SFP to work through software?

Where would I find the product number on the SFP unit? I thought it was SP7041-ISS, or is there another on the label? Heres the full tag.

As per the quickspecs of ProCurve 2810 J9021A, 453578-001 is not supported.

I believe auto negotiation the port won't help you here because HP SP7041-ISS 1Gb SFP is not supported here.

You can refer quickspecs pg. 10 or below snapshot for supported transceiver on ProCurve 2810 (J9021A).
