I understand your scepticism, @dmchandrasinghe and you are almost right about 8 SVIs on 1950 series, but not exactly.
If we speak about 1950 models that have 1G ports and 10G uplinks, then you are right - 8 SVIs maximum.
However, don't forget that 1950 series have 1950-12XGT model with 12 x 10G copper ports and 4 x 10G SFP+ ports (JH295A). That little beast supports up to 32 SVIs.
And according the same table that provided me abovementioned numbers (internal doc, can't share it, sorry) all 1920S models support up to 16 SVIs.
And just FYI - 1950 and 1920S are very, very different devices. 1950 runs Comware 7, 1920S runs customized Linux-based OS with GUI as the only management option. And they have very different SoCs.
