I set up the service monitor as you suggest me.
Right now I see the HTTP monitor inside the my computer tab on IMC, but I can't understand how to alarm the event of stopping service.
As you can see, in the attached image, I've stopped the HTTP service on my computer but there are no alarms on the real time alarm tab.
Thanks in advance.
Marco.

Hi Marco,
you can set thresholds for any of the possible values for this state, so I guess you mean 8(close).

The values for TcpConnState are enumerate above.
Go to Performance Management > Global index settings and find the global index for your TcpConnState monitor.
Click on the tool icon at the far right to modify index.

You could set 2 thresholds with match mode 'between' . This means the alarm will be raised if the MIB object is set to one of the specified values.
The first threshold would be between 8 and 12, the closure states. So you would want this to be a 'major' alarm.
The second threshold would be between 0 and 7, these are the normal values . You need this threshold if you want to check when the original alarm goes back to normal and it would be an 'inform' alarm.
Hope this helps
Paola

Dear Paola, thanks for your support.
I'm also trying to understand how to make the alert system works for this particular feature.
For example if I want an alert will be shown when TcpConnState on port 80 will turn off, I can't understand how to set the threshold for this custom index.
Could you help me on this task?

Hi MFabiani,
there is a hidden feature. You have to add the digits after tcpConnState followed by the @ character in the formula. This is working for me:

I will ask the lab again to document the feature.

In HPE IMC I'd like to monitoring the tcpConnState via SNMP and the OID is the following: 1.3.6.1.2.1.6.13.1.1
Specifically I'd like to monitoring the status of web server on port 80 :
1.3.6.1.2.1.6.13.1.1.0.0.0.0.80.0.0.0.0.0 (tcpConnState.0.0.0.0.80.0.0.0.0.0)

I also try to inset in the Type the following string:
[index1[0]:tcpConnState_OID:2:10].[index2[2]:IpIn:3:4].[index3[2]:PortIn:1:2].[index4[2]:IpOut:3:4].[index5[2]:PortOut:1:1]
but when I resolve the instance, IMC give me the error message!
Any idea to solve this error ?
