    Hello,

I have iap 205, recently i bought iap 305. and i wanted him be the master. so i enter to 305 and then choose preferd as a master. and reboot the AP.

after it i access to 205. verified that prefred as a master is disabled.

then i reboot him. then i type iap 205 ip address. and it redirect me to iap 305. but when i log on to 305. i see only 1 AP the 305. and not also 205.

    what could be the problem?

    Thanks

You'll want them on the same firmware version if you want them to cluster.

Make sure both are running the same version. For the IAP 205 the latest release is 6.5.4.x. Both need to run this version.

    Connect IAP 205
    Upgrade to version 6.5.4.x
Disconnect IAP 205 and connect 305
    Upgrade to version 6.5.4.x
    Connect both devices

I suggest you to make the 305 the VC.
The firmware can be download trough the ASP portal, https://asp.arubanetworks.com

Are you sure both running the same version?
Can you access the 205 when the 305 is not connected?

    yes, they running same version.

i tried to disconnect 305 and then access to 205.

unfortunately 205 not  accepting my password.

the strange thing is when i restart 305. after few second 205 also restarting himself also. Even though I can not choose him.

Do you have exactly the same trunk port settings for the IAP? Both Instants will need to be running firmware Aruba InstantOS 4.3.1.0 at a minimum. Do you also have auto-join enabled on the VC?

If you can access the CLI of the VC, check the APs have joined in the first instance.

    #show aps

Can you attach a tech support of both the 205 and 305?
