Controllerless Networks

Hi All,

For some reason, historically, our client never had background spectrum monitoring enabled on there iAPs, so I have an exercise to enable this. 

They are running alot of iAP 93's and we're seeing alot of memory threshold alerts in airwave for them, usually around 85-90% (threshold is 77%).... so my question is, will enabling background monitoring push that memory usage up further, and am I likely to cause more problems on the 93's?!

What version of Instant code are you running on your AP93?

I've just upgraded them to 6.4.2.6-4.1.1.8 actually, I believe that is the latest release?!

The IAP-93 is probably the AP platform with the least memory of all access points.  I would not run hybrid spectrum full-time as a result.  You will get memory errors, but it should reclaim it.  Again, you should not run hybrid spectrum full time.

Thanks, I thought as much but wanted to double check so I can go back to the customer with a tangible reason not to on the 93's.

I thought that feature was disabled in the 93 precisely because of the memory issues several revisions ago.

It was not.  From the release notes:
