  • 1.  Identify Compaq NICs

I inherited a number of Compaq NICs in this new position here and need to see if I can get them identified and locate driver support for them. They are Compaq, and have "replace with compaq Spare 242501-001" also "FCC ID CNT75MXZ45" Please can someone enlighten me as to what this is called for the purpose of driver downloading? I have tried to search by both the Compaq number and FCC ID number here, but no luck (TAKE THIS HINT FOR WEB SITE IMPROVEMENT AND PRODUCT SUPPORT). Thanks in advance

This is what I received at the provided link!

Your search criteria does not match any of the parts currently available for sale. Please click the
search tips link for more information on how to find your part.

    Mark:

Out of the list you can discard all but 2 Part Numbers (either because they're ISA, 10/100, or PCMCIA). Those part numbers are 317356-B21 (appears twice) and 242500-001. Go to this web page: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/networking/nics/Compaq_Ethernet_NICs.html

then select each of those part numbers and choose the appropriate driver from the list that appears. Then try that driver. One of the two ought to work.

    HTH!

    http://www.impactcomputers.com/242501-001.html

Says it is used on the Proliant 1200 among others. The software download page for the Proliant 1200 offers

hp ProLiant Ethernet or Fast Ethernet NIC Driver for Windows 2000 6.1.3.0 B

You didn't say what OS you want so go to:

    http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/index.html

    and

choose the correct OS but the Ethernet or Fast Ethernet driver is the most likely one since 10BaseT is plain Ethernet and 100BaseT is Fast Ethernet.

    http://www.cpqlinux.com/drivers.html

    which refers to it as:

Compaq Netelligent 10 T PCI UTP
