    Hi HPE-Community,

we are using an IMC Enterprise Installation (7.3_E0705P10) on Windows Server 2019 with a remote database on SQL 2016.

I was wondering how the Application Server is affected, if we reboot the SQL Server without stopping the jserver and other processes in advance. Will the data cached on the AppServer in some way, are they just "lost" for a short period of time or is it definitly not recommended to reboot the remote SQL Server when jserver is still running?

    Best Regards

    Hi,

Generally we recommend not to reboot the SQL server when iMC Jserver process is still running as once the iMC polls database server and not reachable, it will show error on the iMC IDMA agent and iMC will stop gathering or storing information until the SQL server comes back online. So its generally requested not to reboot SQL server when iMC processes are still running in the background.
