  • 1.  Instant AP Name/Rename - Bulk

Is there a way to rename more than 1 AP at a time either via the VC CLI or via AirWave? I am deploying a bunch of new Clusters. These clusters will use Group template in AirWave for configuration (if that matters).

I already have a XLS of all the AP names and MAC Addresses. It would be great to import this information. Otherwise I am stuck finding each individual MAC address on the VC or in AirWave and manually renaming the default name one at a time.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I'm facing the exact same situation with several clusters being deployed.

Is there any way to batch rename the IAPs to see them by name and not MAC@ ?

    Thanks, that'll do the trick.

Turns out it's buggy until the next Airwave version (8.2.8) according to Aruba support team...

What happens is pretty lame, you get the names, group and folder configured through the whitelist alright but...

Turns out the names of the IAPs only apply to the group view, once you go down to the VC level (which is used everywhere in Airwave including VisualRF) the names do not appears and it's back to the mac@...

Aruba support told me to disable/re-enable IGC in Airwave as a workaround but it makes it worses as it pushes the Mac@ from the VC as names for the IAPs in the group thus losing the names from the whitelist...

    Ridiculous.
