    Hello,

We have a network of 75 IAP-515 AP's with rather simple configuration.

2 SSID's, one is for internal network access, works flawlessly. The second is a Guest network. It is setup to provide internet access only but seems to misbehave quite randomly including no internet to clients and/or initial connection issues

When reviewing the virtual controller portal most times we during the day we will see approx 700-850 clients connected to this Guest SSID which is consistent with our environment. Definitely seems to work better when less clients are connected.

Is this too much to expect of the Virtual Controller ?

If our needs are rather simple, would the "Guest" network option even be necessary ?
We are not using captive portal, etc, so could we just setup this Guest SSID on the employee network and just restrict the access with access control rules ?

Appreciate any thoughts, help, feedback, etc.

    Regards,
    Kevin

Are these clients in a separate VLAN, with no other (wired) users?

Do you have Network Assigned (under VLAN) an external DHCP server and routing (not using Virtual Controller Assigned)? With VC assigned addresses/VLAN, all traffic is sent through the virtual controller, which may with high use limit the performance.
