  • 1.  Is it recommend to jump from firmware 8.10.x to 8.12.x?

    Hi! hope everyone is safe.

we have deployed more than 300 Access Point mainly using firmware 8.10.x and 8.11.x, 90% of them serving office environment. We are using AP-515 and AP-518

I just want to know if, from RF perspective, there is any caveats, issues or related to perform this upgrade.

    Much appreciated!.

You can check a section called Known Issues on Aruba page for the specific 8.12 version which you have.

    For example:

Do you know the concept of Software Releases by Aruba?
    https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00143051enw

8.10.x Code Train is a so called Long Supported Release (LSR)
8.11.x & 8.12..x Code Train is a so called Short Supported Release (SSR)
Depending to your demand in regards to stability I would stay on a LSR Release unless you need features, Hardware support (new AP support as an example) or dedicated Bugfixes, which are only available on a SSR Release. you will find this Feature enhancements in the Release Notes.
    https://arubanetworking.hpe.com/techdocs/ArubaOS/Consolidated_8.x_RN/Content/8.12/overview-812x.htm

    https://arubanetworking.hpe.com/techdocs/ArubaOS/Consolidated_8.x_RN/Content/8.11/overview-8110x.htm

BTW - 8.11.x is End-of-Support since 31st of March 2024, there are no dates for 8.10.x or 8.12.x Code Trains

My recommendation is always - if it is still a supported Release which runs stable and has no known security issues, stay on that code.
