Hello all,
I am now overseeing an install on a campus where we have about 800 Aruba 635 Access Points, grouped into 8 Virtual Controllers.
We are running 8.10.0.13_90226 on the Aruba 635s
I inherited this install so the details I will try to provide as much as I can.
WiFi is fine across the board, except for one area that isn't "off" campus but close to actual neighborhood (its a residential housing setup). Numerous complaints have come up that the WiFi will just "drop" out. It seems to only be Apple Devices (specifically iPhones) and there seems to be no rhyme or reason that I can identify.
I have witnessed it as I have looked at connections on Aruba Central and devices will show healthy connections. Users will run a speed test on their device and show no upload/download. On their device UI, it shows the WiFi in a "connecting" state (SSID shows a spinning bar). We have been telling users to forget network and restart and this usually resolves the issue and if it doesn't, it self resolves after 5-60 minutes.
No where else on Campus are the device having the issues. We have asked our vendor for a HPE UXI Sensor to see if the residential area is interfering but all other IoT devices are operating fine.
Relevant details I can think of:
- All Bands are enabled on these WAPS
- All of our WAPS are in Balanced mode
- This area is a "Site" in Aruba and is made up of 31 WAPs. They are like 2 bedroom townhomes, with a WAP on the 1st and 2nd floor of every other townhome
- SSID is "Eduroam"
- An older site, most of these are connected to a Cisco 2950 via way of power injector
