I need to use the transceivers in object in a network where I must connect a HP 5130 (16 ports SFP + 8 ports Gbe) trough a single-mode fiber to another rack where i have a HP 1910-24 ports switch. I found the J4859c product that should be the good solution, but I'm not sure about compatibility and exactly I found it is compatible with HP1910 switch, but i don't know if is the same for the 5130, Can someone help me? And if you can suggest another transceiver ( always 1Gb and for single-mode fiber) more cheap, will be great!

Hi, first of all you should use HPE-genuine Transceivers, this will help you in obtaining the best performances and grant the correct Switches working conditions.

Then you must read both the HPE OfficeConnect 1910 and HPE FlexNetwork 5130 QuickSpecs documents to understand which SFP LX Transceivers each Switch could support.

The HPE FlexNetwork 5130 EI and 5130 HI Switch Series both support the HPE X120 1G SFP LC LX Transceiver (JD119B) as the 1 Gbps LC LX (so up to 550 meters in Multi-Mode or up to 10000 meters in Mono-Mode) fiber optic transceiver.

That same transceiver - JD119B - is then supported also on the little HPE OfficeConnect 1910 (which runs basically the Comware OS like the HPE FlexNetwork 5130 EI/HI Switch series); alternatively the J4859C transceiver is supported too.

If I were you I would go with two identical JD119B transceivers, one on the 1910 and the other one on the 5130.

If you have more budget (and few spare Fiber Optic cables between your racks) go with Port Trunking LACP aggregating two (or more) SFP Transceiver ports...but this depends on inter-Switch link usage (real traffic) and resiliency/load balancing requirements.

Okay what you say, but the budget is very small, so if I can solve for both switches with cheaper transceiver j4859c, will be better! Do you think the j4859c is compatible with both switches? I had already seen that the jd119b model was compatible with both, but it looks a lot more expensive.

You should read this other thread (OK, it's focused on SFP+ Transceivers, not on SFP, and it bring in Comware and ProVision based Switches but...it is interesting IMHO) and you will understand what there is behind the scenes...and...why trying to use an unsupported HPE genuine SFP/SFP+ Transceiver (here I'm say unsupported HPE genuine: unsupported as per related Switch's QuickSpecs and HPE genuine because it is a prerequisite) on a particular Switch can be sometimes problematic...there is no guarantee it will work as you expect...because its Hardware could be graylisted/blacklisted by the Switch itself through some identification mechanisms the Switch has (as example the EEPROM one as was pointed out by @VoIP-Buddy on that thread).
