  • 1.  Lost APs after controller reload

    Posted Apr 06, 2012 05:11 AM

    Hi,

Yesterday I had a curious problem  (i'll make a separate post "external IP in user role logon").

I decided to reload the controller (3400). At the end of the reboot process, 3 AP-105 were missing.

I've decided to reboot 2 of them ... nothing better for several hours.

But during the night, those two ones appeared  .... not the third one

To investigate this morning, I've rebooted one and I've connected a PC to the AP console port.

It can't get any DHCP response from the controller and then loops rebooting.

When looking in the Cisco L2 switch forwarding database, the AP MAC address was announced on the switch controller port !

I've then reloaded again the controller and ... the 3 APs came back.

Any idea if the problem happens again ?

    thanks

    o.p.

    PS:All missing AP were AP105.

How do those maps discover the controller?

    Same VLAN / broadcast domain.

I think it's enough on a simple architecture.

(after the second reload, I found back thoses AP, so the conf is ok isn't it ?)

    thx
