I have a 2510 switch setup to use port-access mac-based Radius authentication using an external Radius server for all ports.

This works great, and i'm happy with it.

What i'd like to know is if the switch can cache the authenticated mac address for a specified period of time.

Would I use port-security learning for this?

Can the switch handle having port-security and mac-based port-access enabled at the same time?

After researching this a bit, it seems that port-access & port-security cannot be enabled at the same time.

So my question becomes: Are there any methods available that allow the switch to cache a mac-based authenticated Mac address?

querying the arp cache would help to an extent for your case(?) though not sure one can specifiy the time those cache entries stay there!
