  • 1.  Max and Min EIRP

    Hi,

    I have a question about Max EIRP that can be configure in a controller.

    The 305 AP has the following characteristics:

    - 2.4GHz band: +18 dBm per chain, +21 dBm
    aggregate (2x2)
    - 5GHz band: +18 dBm per chain, +23 dBm
    aggregate (3x3)

    and antenna gain of 3.9dBi in 2.4GHz and 5.4dBi in 5GHz. Does it mean that the maximum EIRP that can be configure is 21 + 3.9 = 24.9 2.4GHz and 23 + 5.4 = 28.4 5GHz???

    That is correct (ignoring rounding errors), but note that power may be restricted by local regulatory limits.

    And anticipating a question about minimum EIRP, most AP platforms do not support "conducted per-chain settings" below 0dBm, so the lowest EIRP levels would be 6.9dBm and 10.4dBm.
