Wireless Access

Hello,

I have AP-515 connected to 7205 controller running Aruba OS 8.6.4.0.

The customer need maximum coverage and I have already set the max EIRP (attached screenshot) and still the customer is comparing it with a standalone Dlink AP which has more coverage than this. Is there any other parameters that I can change to make the AP cover the maximum area?

How is the Aruba AP mounted?  The dlink AP and the Aruba AP have different coverage patterns.

Dlink on table top and AP-515 on the ceiling. But the customer made one more test by connecting a AP-515 to an external power supply and connecting to a router with DHCP and he configured it with an SSID. He found out that this Aruba AP is giving more coverage than that of the APs connected to the controller. Any idea why?

Aruba APs have a downtilt integrated antenna, so the coverage pattern is different from that of a Dlink.  They should not be compared because they are designed for different purposes.  The further you get from an access point, performance decreases, so greater coverage does not equal better performance.

There is no other parameter that would have an affect on coverage.
