  • 1.  Multiple VC's in one group

    Hello all,

In Central, if we have a VC per building and the building is in a site in Central if it possible to move all of the VC's to one group. At the moment all the VC's share the same configuration but if we need to add a SSID we have to do it per site / building. It would be better to have all VC's in one site and the buildings in seperate site for reporting and monitoring.

What I can concerned about if that each VC current has a static IP address, if I move the VC's to a single site will the VC's all get the same IP address? We could set the VC to DHCP before we move them I guess.

You can have multiple VC managed by the one Central group but you can't have multiple VCs in the same VLAN

If you add all your commonly configured sites to a single group any configuration you make at the group level will be inherited by all your sites.  Any unique per cluster settings can be made at the VC level of that particular cluster.  Getting into that is sort of hidden for some reason.  You have to go to Group > Devices and select the VC name hyperlink in the Virtual Controller column.  The context in the upper left will show the VC name rather than the group or site name and any changes you make will only impact that specific cluster.  The only thing to watch for is that any VC level customizations are not indicated at the group level as not being inherited so you have to flip between site and VC level configurations sometimes if you do not remember if you overwrote something at the VC level or not.
