Hi community,
Reading the ClearPass User Guide it seems I can get an inventory all of my network. The guide says that after configuring all the parameters needed for the network scan, and importing the discovered network devices, I can view the details of the discovered devices, like this

This is an Aruba switch, will I get the same information (vendor, device category, firmware version) for third-party devices such Cisco, Brocade, etc.? And what for printers, VoIP phones, etc.? Will I also get that information or just general information such as vendor and/or MAC address? And for endpoints, will I get information such as device, device category, vendor, OS version (such as Microsoft, Windows, Windows 8.1, same for Mac OS, Linux)?
After having this information of all my discovered devices (network devices and endpoints), is there any type of report to have this information (also firmware version) for the discovered devices for exporting?
I am putting this question because I have no hands-on on this topic and the only information I have is the CPPM User Guide.
What I want finally is to have an inventory of my customer network, including networking devices (switches, APs, etc.) and endpoints devices (computers, printers, IP phones, etc.), all with their Vendor name, Device name, Device category, and very important, firmware version. For example, Cisco, Switch C3750E, IOS 15.2. For computers, Windows, Mac OS, or Linux version. For example, Microsoft, Windows, Windows 8.1, patch version. Is this possible with ClearPass? Can this information be easily exported?
Please your help with this.
Many thanks in advance,
Julián
