    Hi All,

I make a NIC team configured in Proliant 380G3. It's successful. May I connect the two ethernet cable to different ethernet switch? Because I have the cisco switch redundancy architectrue.

    see attached file.

    Thanks!

This is a common question. Yes you can, but this is depends on teaming mode.

    Basic Summary:
These team types can have teamed adapters connected to more than one switch:
    - Automatic
    - NFT
    - TLB
    - Dual Channel
    - 802.3ad dynamic Dual Channel

These team types require the teamed adapters to be connect to the same switch:
    - SLB
    - 802.3ad

I've provided this information and a lot more in a whitepaper I wrote about NIC Teaming. You can find it here:
    ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/networking/TeamingWP.pdf
(Look at figure 3-4. Anything labeled "Switch fault tolerance" can have Teamed adapters connected to more than one switch).

Remember, all ports belonging to the same team MUST be connected to switch ports that are on the same broadcast domain/subnet. This applies to ALL team types.

    Best Regards,
