  • 1.  Password complexity requirement in Aruba Central

    Posted 26 days ago

    Hi All,

We will be managing a customer through Central MSP mode. Customer wants to know are there any password complexity requirements in place and can administrators change it like minimum length should be 16, which characters should be included, password history should be maintained, how often password should be changed. This all pertains to users that will have read/write access to customer devices via aruba central?

If you use HPE accounts to sign in, the password requirements are:

    At least 8 characters
        A lowercase letter
        An uppercase letter
        A number
        A symbol
        No parts of your username
Does not include your first name
Does not include your last name
Your password cannot be any of your last 24 passwords

As far as I know, these are not modifyable. I think there is a 6 month password change, but not sure as my logins are based on SAML Single Sign On, which may be the preferred way if you have specific requirements on the account management. You can integrate the GreenLake login with your Entra ID, Okta, or other SAML2 compliant Identity Provider (IdP) and enforce password requirements, certificate based, multi-factor authentication and other security through your IdP.

    Hey Harry,

I suggest activating 2FA additionally. So you and your customer can use Central safely, independent from password complexity.

    Cheers

2FA is really important and here you can find how you can enable it for your GreenLake  workspace.

HPE GreenLake -> Manage workspace -> Multifactor authentication
