    Hi,

Generally if I read on net w.r.t HP switches, they display config as Primary Image and Secondary Image. So I thought to cross check with my HPE 5510 switch.

I executed commands such as dir , dir flash:/ -- it show below details. There is no Primary or Secondary

Hi, that's because the feature of having Primary/Secondary flash memory areas (respectively for Primary/Secondary images) should be referenced to HPE Switches based on (legacy) HP ProVision OS or (current) ArubaOS-Switch operating systems and so is referenced to HP/HPE ProCurve or current Aruba ArubaOS-Switch switch series, Comware based switch series (like your HPE 5510 switch) use another approach with regard to flash area, as you can see.

So in case if the working firmware gets corrupted or want to boot from previous version firmware, is there any way to perform the same ?

What to do in such cases ?

If the switch can't boot because of an issue with the files, you need to use a console to break the boot sequence and upload a new version. The manual will show you the steps.

There is no facility to store a secondary image that is ready to use in case of the primary image fails. You can store the files on the flash to save time, but will still need to perform a restore via the console.

That said, I manage 1000+ comware for 7+ years and have never needed to do that.
