I am having Problems installing a D-Link DWL-630 (802.11g) notebook wireless adapter card into my HP Pavilion ze4500 PCMCIA card bus slot. After installing the D-Link software, rebooting, shutting down, installing the card and powering up again, the comuter does not recognize any new hardware, the card lights do not light up and the D-Link software (system tray icon) says "D-Link air plus - no card". I use a D-Link 802.11g wireless router for this network.

I've tried several times to uninstall and re-install but to no avail. D-Link told me to reset the wireless zero config to manual setting but this didnt work either. To test the card out, I put it into another notebook computer I have which did recognize it as "new hardware found". Then I took a DWL-650 card from my other working notebook (a compaq presario, almost identical to the HP Pavilion ze4500) and tried to see if it would be recognized in the HP Pavilion ze4500 as new hardware found, it also was not recongized. Therefore I am thinking that something is wrong with the PCMCIA slot. How can I test this slot and know if it is working, or what are some common things that I could try to fix this problem.

    Thanks!
