This discussion has a lot of specific configuration and testing points. It's very unlikely that you have the same issue, and I'd recommend that you work with your Aruba partner and/or Aruba support to have a look at exactly your issue. To start with, the discussion is around v6 firmware and you mention that you run v8 firmware. As far as I know, it's expected that once a user is authenticated in a captive portal, there is no way to do another captive portal unless you de-authenticate the client and start a new authentication session. Your workflow may need a (re)design, which just works better through a partner or support where you can share all information and perform interactive testing/validation/fine-tuning of your workflow.
Also, be informed that ClearPass 6.10 is end of support now, and you should (consider) an upgrade to one of the supported version. This probably is unrelated to your problem, but ClearPass 6.10 won't get any security patches anymore, for example for the recent RADIUS replay attack.

Ahh I see…I have the same workflow working in my lab, you could still return the captive portal role using the Allow All Mac authentication method.
Give that a shot if you can see if that works
