Hi.
This really depend on what users are doing. Heavy 4k videos or huge file transfers and you can end up with 10-20 users saturating the air. If they are just associated and doing nothing, then 500 will be quite happy.
And really depend also on the quality of client connection. Many retries will eat air time. Slow clients (maybe the client is very far) can hog the response for everybody.
High density setup is quite an art regardless of all science involved.
As you can see, there is no one answer to cover it all. Real answer is depends. If you know what clients are doing and what expectations/requirements they have, then you can estimate approx number of clients per specific radio.
But remember AP is just a hub not a switch. All clients share the same bandwidth and timeslots are limited.

Subject: Recommended number of users for AP-655
Can anyone tell me what the realistic number of connections per AP on the AP-655 is? Literature online says 512 per radio, but that seems very high. Thanks.
