Hi, the redirect DNS in controllers works with the captive portal certificate uploaded to the controller, if it is by default the redirect works for securelgin.arubanetworks.com, but if you upload a certificate it works for this domain, i.e xyz.acme.com. if you upload a wildcard cert (i.e *.acme.com) redirect will be placed for captiveportal-login.acme.com
No IP FQDN relation is necesary, redirect works for any wireless traffic looking for those domain. You use that for captive portal, may be for redirect to an internal captive portal in the controller, or in order to get credentials from an external captive portal an and send them back to the external radius auth server.
