Hello community,
I want to replace a switch in my 2930F switch stacking, can you help me by indicating what I should do in the final process of the change.
On the new replacement switch:
1. it must have the same firmware level as the stack you are going to join.
2. Run the command "vsf member <member number> priority <priority>", and make sure the priority is lower than the stack commander. The member number is the same as that of the faulty stack member switch.
3. Run the command "vsf member <member number> link <link number> ethernet <interface number for stacking>" to allocate VSF ports.
4. Run the command "vsf enable domain <domain number>". The domain number has to be the same as the stack domain number. The switch will reboot and appear as a VSF enabled switch.
5. Save the configuration and shut down the switch.
In these steps I am sure they are correct, but it is not clear to me what is the procedure to remove the member that is currently in the stack and is the one I want to replace.
What process do I have to do? Removing this member from the stack will restart all the switches in the stack? if the equipment is in production do you recommend to do it in a service window?
