I am trying to monitor my Procurve switches (3500yl) using SNMP. I setup a test batch of switches to send traps to my MS Ops Manager server. All informational traps such as "Port #19 is now on-line" come in correctly. However, the warning traps come in as just a number. If the trap is "Excessive broadcasts on port #19", I get "19". The trap is fine when I telnet into the switch. I then installed a simple SNMP trap receiver on the server and instead of a number, I get a URL that points to the switch and it gives the information about the trap. I tried that same program on my P.C. and I got the same results. I contacted HP and they said to update the firmware. I did on a couple of switches, but there was no change. Any help would be appreciated
