When configuring Spectrum Mode on Aruba access points (as seen in your screenshot under 2.4 GHz radio profile: SE-24), enabling "Spectrum Monitoring" is not required - but it depends on the intended purpose:
-
Mode: spectrum-mode
This puts the AP in a dedicated spectrum monitor mode where it does not provide Wi-Fi service but instead passively scans RF activity for interference and non-Wi-Fi sources.
-
Spectrum Monitoring (checkbox)
This enables spectrum analysis while the AP is still in Wi-Fi serving mode. It's for hybrid operation - AP still serves clients but periodically checks the spectrum for interference.

Subject: Spectrum Mode Question
Hello Experts.
Just a quick question. When configuring Spectrum Mode, Do I need to also enable the 'Spectrum Monitoring' Option in the RF Management>2.4 GHz>SE-Profile?
The 'Spectrum Monitoring' option is also in the 5GHz profile.
Many Thanks,
Alex
