    Product: IAP555

    Background: I created a hidden SSID namely "INF5-PSK" which only using 2.4G band only and this SSID were provisioning at all APs.  I found that some of the APs can using this hidden SSID but some do not.  What is the possible reason?  Thanks.

    The DHCP is handled by Forti firewall and the switches configuration for all ports which connecting to the APs are the same.

    Update the software to something currently supported, you're still running the original release of 8.7.1.

    How have you determined that the WLAN is working for some APs but not others?

    There are total 10 * APs deployed in the office.  Some of APs can surf on the internet by connecting the said hidden SSID using laptop and/or mobile device but some do not.  As there is no zone number is configured to that hidden SSID profile, so i believe this SSID were provisioned to all APs.

    Yup.  The firmware version of all APs are still stick into original release,  May I know what is the stable version and provide the upgrade path or procedure of firmware upgrade? Thank you.

    Hi Billy.

    Not much info in your post. No AP models at least.

    Assuming that you have APs in Aruba Instant mode.

    This simptom is sometimes observed when you don't have all needed vlans configured on the switches for all APs.

    First check that all required vlans are tagged/untagged on all APs. Then depend on your AP model check release notes for latest version.  You can check if upgrade version exist for your configuration on Maintenance / Check for New Version

    From here you can upgrade your APs. If you are in Instant mode DO NOT UPGRADE TO V10.* !!! Check release notes before upgrading. Not all AP models are supported in latest versions. Version 8.10 is safe bet for most AP models.

    Check whether all APs are broadcasting this SSID. Go to the Support menu in the GUI, enter "AP BSSID Table" in the Command field and select "All Access Points" in the Target field.

    Check whether the clients cannot associate with the WLAN at all, or whether only IP communication is not working. Go to Dashboard/Clients in the GUI. Are problem clients displayed there? If so, what is shown in the IP Address column?

    As @Gorazd mentioned, your symptoms occur when the Access VLAN is not tagged on the switch port. Double check that the VLAN 19 is correctly tagged on the access ports and uplinks.

    @Gorazd, @lord.

    It is my fault, i double check the permitted vlan in switches side, i discovered the vlan 19 is missing and the SSID is working after added the required vlan in switches side, thanks all.

    Hi Billy.

    Glad that you found the problem in vlan settings. Been in this hole many times just to discover that vlan is not propagated properly somewhere in the network.
