Hi Gayan,
"In the factory default configuration, spanning tree operation is off"
https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00091310en_us , page 91.
So yes, you need to enable STP if it wasn't enabled before during previous configuration sessions.

Subject: STP is not enabled by default Aruba 5406Rzl2 switch running Aruba OS version - KB.16.10.0009
Dear All,
I would really appreciate if you all give your insights regarding this issue.
I issued show spanning-tree vlan xx in Aruba 5406Rzl2 switch and it says stp mode is MST and STP is not enabled. Does this means I will have to enable spanning tree in the switch and I would appreciate if some one can let me know how does STP works in Aruba OS.
Thank you and Regards,
Gayan
