XCVR Guide Edition 14 now available
The updated Edition 14 Transceiver Guide for the AOS-CX and AOS-S switches.
Please don't use web search engines to look for this guide – often times you'll get an older edition.
You can find it via Aruba Support Portal (ASP) (requires a login)
using this Search string "Switches & Transceiver Guide"
Edition 14 includes the new 8100 series switch, along with new Models in the 6200M and 6300M series.
See the section in the Guide titled "Updates to this edition"
The best way to approach this guide is:
- What speed interconnect are you looking for
- You can find the specs of the interconnects in each chapter what Switch series/Model are you interested in (Distance, wavelengths, whether it's for MMF or SMF, etc)
- Find the switch of interest, and note the minimum software version required to support the transceiver, DAC, or AOC and any exceptions
(such as limitations to select ports or port configuration requirements).
If you haven't already, read the OVERVIEW chapter for topics ranging types of transceivers, splitting ports, how to figure out what type of attenuators you should use if you're bench testing with shorter cables, Unsupported Transceiver Mode (UT-mode), and a glossary of terms.
