  • 1.  turn off SNMP traps

hi, I am a bit new to the stacking concepts in HP switches. I have a stack here with one commander and a few members (mostly procurve 2626). On one of the member switches there are ports that are used for lab testing. Because of the nature of these tests, the switch sees a lot of errors on these ports which throws up a lot of SNMP alert emails to me.

My question is, is there a way I can turn off SNMP just for these ports on that switch? Even if I turn off SNMP on this switch as a whole, it doesn't seem to do the job because it is picking up the SNMP settings from the commander.

Your suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks!

My suggestion, although probably unpopular - is to not use stacking! It's more trouble than it's worth (IMHO).
