  • 1.  Unable to rename AP

    Hi,

I have a MM and 2 x 7210 MDs on firmware 8.5.0.6 with clustering configured. In my environment, there are mixture of AP models. I notice that I couldn't rename AP either via cli (ap-rename) or through GUI (provision). I like to clarify the action of renaming is successful but after the AP reboots, it always use the original name. E.g. SYD.WLK.07.05 (original)> WLK.07.05 (changed) > SYD.WLK.07.05 (after reboot).

I tried to clear that entry in the ap database but the result is still the same. I confirmed that there are no duplicate entry of WLK.07.05.

    Appreciate your advice.

    Thanks.

Take a look at the CAP/RAP whitelist and ensure there isn't an ap-name configured there since ap-name (if specified) in RAP/CAP whitelist will take precedence over a ap-name name set via the provisioning page.

That's it. There's whitelist for CAP. Thanks, Craig.
