One of my 2900's seems to be restarting randomly.

This morning it affected backups and our time collection system.

What should I be using to monitor / diagnose these issues? I have a feeling the switch is bouncing more often, and I'm only occasionally catching it.

    Hi Daniel,

You could start by identifying what is going on, the show tech (Show Technical Support) file, You will need a TFTP server, you can download one for free at www.solarwinds.com

    Use the following CLI command:
copy command 'show tech all' tftp <TFTP server=""> <FILENAME> [*ENTER*]

Me and my esteemed members on this forum, could assist in identifying the problem!

    Good Luck,
    Franklyn
    </FILENAME></TFTP>

Hi Daniel, you are having the following buserrors:

PPC Data Storage (Bus Error) exception vector 0x300:
    Stack Frame=0x089c6340 HW Addr=0x00baa114 IP=0x00765334 Task='mIpPktRecv' Task ID=0x89c6630
    fp: 0x0a8d7034

There is a fix implemented , you need to contact your local support for the following firmware release: T.13.25

    Good Luck!

    Thank you.

I called support and while the .25 release does not directly affect my issue, they did ask me to update and report back.

I have a ticket open with support and will follow up here as well.
