Hi Robert,
That's a nice setup! I'm also curious about the 5406Rs. I see that you split distribution and core but on both buildings, is there a special reason for that approach?
Having a single 5406R doing the routing on each building looks like a single point of failure, or are they stacked on VSF? I noticed both B1-CORE and B2-CORE have the same IP address, that's why I thought they may be running VSF.
Have you considered using the 8320s to be distribution and core? That way you would benefit of VSX hitless upgrades and repurpose the 5406R.
Anywho, good stuff!
Cheers,
Aarón

Subject: UPDATE: Aruba CX 8320 x 4 Between two buildings
Hi Aruba,
I just wanted to share the latest developments of a project that started around 17 months ago. We have two warehouses next to each other and the design below is the end result. We have over 2,500 devices from PC, Servers, Access Points, Phones, CNC and sensors.
Brief summary - both buildings have a pair of Aruba CX 8320's and they are linked via 4 x 40GB links in VSX MC LAG. We have a transient vLAN between the two buildings. Each building has their own /21 which we break down within each building for DATA, Wi-Fi, VOiP, etc.
Both buildings have 12 strands of single mode home runs between each other. All IDF's have 6 strand of single mode home runs back to the 8320 switches. Building 1 has 12 IDF's - each IDF is linked via 4 x 10GB and setup with VSX MC LAG's. Building 2 has 17 IDF's.
We utilize Meraki for Access Points, Concentrators, Cameras, Firewall's and Multi-Gigabit Switches for the AP's. The Meraki has two WAN links... WAN 1 = AT&T ELAN (1GB~10GB) back to HQ and WAN 2 = SPECTRUM Fiber 1GB. The Meraki SDWAN config will fail-over between the two WAN links. If fail-over occurs, WAN2 will auto-vpn back to our concentrators in HQ.
Everything is working perfectly! No issues. All stats are perfect. We are now going to convert 50+ buildings and our HPE Synergy Datacenter and DR. :-)
If you have any questions, let me know. I can also share config if you like. :-)
