Hi Idham, are you so kind to show us what exact command on ArubaOS-Switch CLI you performed to download the SWI image file into the Primary (or Secondary) Flash Area?

tftp can cause some issues with large files as the protocol was designed in the time that files were just a few kilobytes or megabytes.

If you have access to the WebUI, that is what I use for upgrades of individual switches and works faster in general than tftp.

Gosh...and the dinosaur I am...that on ArubaOS-CX still insist to transfer large software images via tftp (more than 300/400MB for file at time) and I haven't hit a transfer issue so far...maybe the AOS-CX tftp implementation is more robust than the one engineered into AOS-Switch? Maybe the WB.16.02.0012 has a bug? who knows?

    Hi Idham

what target firmware version are you trying to upload? I assume you used a compatible image (WB.16.xx.xxxx), right?
And did you try to use an intermediate version (e.g. 16.08.xxxx) or so, since upgrading to a newer version is quite a step?

If you still don't get positive results I suggest opening a TAC case and see whether Aruba can get someting out of the debug logs.
I never had similar issues in the past with ArubaOS switches to be honest.

    Best,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

My target is firmaware KB 16_11_0003.swi. Any recommendation for other or latest firmware?

The KB means the firmware is for the 3810/5400R switches; your command output shows WB, which is for the 2920 switch.

Please get the firmware for your specific switch type (probably a 2920) from asp.arubanetworks.com and try again with that.

    Hi Idham, Herman

No other recommendation than - as Herman already said - to use the firmware which is for the platform. The two-letter code in front is a hint to whether you have the right one or not. KB != WA != WB != YA != YB etc.

    I hope this helps.

    Best,
    Thomas
