To move the 9004 under management by the MCR will require a "write erase" of the controller and going through the setup script to enable administration through the Mobility Conductor.

You'll need to load the new software (AOS 8.10.0.8) on the 9004 first, then can execute the "write erase", which will then cause the setup process to be started upon first boot.

Note that SD-Branch as an architecture is managed by Aruba Central. When moving to 8.10.0.8, you will convert to a Mobility Controller architecture, so no longer SD-Branch.

Depending on what you want to achieve, that could be what you want. And yes, as mentioned you will need to start the configuration from the Mobility Conductor (MCR) from scratch (wipe) or join in a group with existing configuration to be pushed from the MCR.
