  • 1.  upgrading Airwave 8.2.3.1 -> 8.2.12.1

    Hi,
    We have an old never been touched since the dawn of time Airwave  server running 8.2.3.1 trhat I'd like to upgrade to the latest and greatest.

    8.2.3 -> 8.2.12 seems a big jump at one time, especially as 8.2.3 gets you to root and not the restricted shell..

    Is there a recommended upgrade path with interim builds in there ?

    You will need to go to 8.2.10.0 first so the DB scheme can change. This also prepares the system to go to CentOS 7. Once you upgrade to 8.2.10.0, take a backup of airwave. Once you have your backup you will need to deploy a new VM of 8.2.10.0 from asp.arubanetworks.com, or download the ISO from asp.arubanetworks.com, and format/reinstall if your running on hardware. Once you restore from backup on 8.2.10.0, you can go ahead and upgrade to 8.2.12.x

    See link  for the 8.2.12.0 server sizing guide: https://asp.arubanetworks.com/downloads/documents/RmlsZTozN2I0ZjAwOC0yYTdjLTExZWItODdiOC0wMzk2M2YxN2IyMDE%3D

    We can follow the below upgrade path.

    8.2.3.1 >> 8.2.6.1 >> 8.2.8.2 >> 8.2.10.1 >> 8.2.10.1 (CenTOS& install and backup restore ) >> 8.2.11.2 >> 8.2.12.0

    We can also refer to the release note which will have the path mentioned.
