What is the timeline for using the AP-654 with connectorised antennas in the UK for usage on the 6GHz band (indoor usage)? It looks like the AP is available to purchase does this also mean that it has been approved for the above usage?

As far as I know, the AP-654 (and 635) is only shipping in a handful of countries that allow 6GHz connectorized APs, for which I have seen the list US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Which means that the AP is probably not even shipping to the UK, and if it is, the 6GHz radio will be disabled by DRT.

I'm not aware of UK regulations on the use of external antenna's on 6GHz, but if the regulator (seems to be Ofcom for UK) allows it, it can be enabled and 634/654 APs may start shipping to the UK. Your local Aruba Sales Team may be the best to ask this question; unless someone here has more information.

The problem is that since the exact rules that will apply to the use of (outdoor and) connectorized 6GHz radios are not yet known for most countries, we cannot guarantee that the AP-654 and AP-634 will pass the certification requirements (even if we're 99% sure they will..). Also, the timeline for when we'll be able to turn that radio on is still unclear for many countries. It may take another 2 years before this is allowed in the UK and we can obtain the cert to turn on the radio through a DRT update.

Given that, it does not seem wise to offer these platforms now as "6GHz ready" in those countries, and we're only offering it there where we're confident that within a year or less we'll be able to enable the 6GHz radio. For now that list is limited to: US, Canada, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand (UAE may be added as well).
